This is a set of logos I created for Lizzie Streit of It's a Veg World After All back in DECEMBER (eek—life got a little nutty for a bit). Lizzie is a registered dietitian, veggie enthusiast, and writer. And since completing this project, Lizzie has officially gone out on her own, bringing you creative veg recipes on the reg. I’m so psyched for you, Lizzie! #girlboss
Miss Mandy is a very talented musician friend of mine. She has a lot planned for 2017 and wanted a logo to kickstart her endeavor.Together, we brainstormed a lot of ideas focused around music and positive mental health. Mandy has a background in psychology and hopes to bring the two worlds together. In the end, we landed on this folksy mark. The yellow canary symbolizes the feelings of happiness and health that music can bring. It originated from the term "canary in a coal mine," which refers to when miners used caged canaries to warn them of danger in the mine. If methane gas became present, the canary would die and the miners would know to leave the mine. But here, the canary is safe and alive around music.I highly recommend checking Mandy out over on YouTube! I guarantee her music will make you smile.
My fiancé(!) recently started a reggae band. It's called "Ear Me Now" and they are so much fun to watch! They are playing tonight at City Taphouse in Logan Square Philadelphia at 7pm. Come on by!And if you can't make it, check 'em out on YouTube.Ear Me Now!
I recently finished up the logo for a new business called Bowerbird Garden. If you Google "bowerbird," you will see that they are beautiful birds with creative spirits. Bowerbird males are known for building brilliant nests to attract their mates. And they'll use anything from feathers, to shells, to leaves, to flowers, to berries, and even discarded items like plastic and glass.Similarly, the owner of Bowerbird Garden uses found objects as planting containers. She has been known to use light fixtures, industrial metal drawers, vintage vent covers, old baking molds, etc. It's pretty awesome. Check her out on Instagram at @BowerbirdGarden. You'll notice that she also makes terrariums and has been hosting workshops around Philly. So follow her to stay up to date on that! And as always, thanks for checking out my work!
I recently finished up some TV spots with my agency, Masterminds. The campaign is for Finger Lakes Gaming, a fun-loving client that cares a lot about making their customers feel good. They were a lot of fun to create and I hope you enjoy them.[vimeo 161493210 w=500 h=281][vimeo 161493211 w=500 h=281][vimeo 161493212 w=500 h=281]Thanks for reading, and watching. You're awesome.
For Christmas, a friend of mine gifted her sister, Lizzie, a new logo design for her healthy eating blog. Super creative gift idea, right? And I got to be the lucky designer to work with her.The name of Lizzie's blog is, It's a Veg World After All. She wanted something simple, clean and colorful. She also seemed to have a thing for carrots. (And avocados - which she believes to be the eighth wonder of the world.)This is the final mark:We hope you like it. And we hope you keep up with "It's a Veg World After All" for plant-based recipes and inspiration. I plan to!On a side note, thank you for reading "Love is all around" and "Traveler's Compass" Art Prints and for voting! Traveler's Compass won an Editor's Pick Award and is now for sale on Minted!
Remember that time I told you about my big plans to re-brand myself?Well, I finally did it. Say 'hello' to Letter19.I've been kicking the name around for about a year now. I've said it out loud to people, I've played with logo designs, I've changed my Twitter handle... and I still really dig it. I dig the idea of defining a letter of the alphabet ('S,' obviously) with a number. It's a way of looking at something differently. And that is exactly how I approach all of my designs. So, I'm officially making it official. You can now find me on Etsy, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest as Letter19Design. And of course, over at Letter19Design.com. Check it out!
