Rabbit rabbit…rabbit! In celebration of the third month of the year, this post is inspired by the ancient "Three Hares" motif. It symbolizes different things for different cultures, but in China (where the earliest known examples appear in cave temples dating back to the 6th century!), the hare represents peace, tranquility, and success—and I truly hope March brings you all those things.
Rabbit rabbit and happy February! Steve Maraboli once said, “The moon doesn’t go through phases. Our perspective of the moon goes through phases. No matter what the calendar says, the moon is always full.” This is such a great quote to remember as we inevitably go through many phases and feelings this month. Like the moon, we are full and complete even if some days we just don’t feel it. Hope you enjoy your February, and all the phases it brings!
Rabbit Rabbit and welcome to December!I've been wanting to do a carousel design for a while now. Inspired by Joni Mitchell's song, Circle Game. And the seasons they go 'round and 'roundAnd the painted ponies go up and downWe're captive on a carousel of timeWe can't return we can only look behindFrom where we cameAnd go 'round and 'round and 'roundIn the circle game.I hope you will look back fondly on this year. And if not, there's still time to make some nice memories. Now go enjoy what's left of this 2018 ride!
Rabbit, rabbit! Another new month begins. And as the days continue to get darker and colder, it can be easy to hide away and take them for granted. But, there is still so much wonder around us, still so damn much to be thankful for. Like Marcel Proust once said (and I paraphrase), “the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but seeing with new eyes.” Hope you find the beauty in the new month ahead!
Rabbit rabbit! The start of a new month and a new season. Autumn. Known to Chinese philosophers as a time of sadness and courage. A time to allow ourselves to weep for the loss of summer. To find the courage to face what’s ahead. To let go of things that aren’t going right. And to chase our dreams and visions. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Happy Autumn and October!
Rabbit, rabbit and welcome to September. August was a little rough for me. So I, for one, am looking forward to a new month and a fresh start. And if I’m bringing anything with me into September, it’s remembering that we have good days and bad days. And really f*ing bad days. And that’s just life. But we can still find beauty in the really f*ing bad days if we try hard enough.
Rabbit, rabbit and welcome to July! June was heavy. Among other very sad news, we lost some incredibly inspirational and iconic figures. And it was earth shattering. It showed that we never truly know what’s happening in people’s minds and hearts, or how different the world can look from someone else’s perspective. That is why showing more kindness, love, and support is so very important. So in addition to giving away 50 free coffees at Metropolitan Cafe to brighten people’s days today, Rabbit Rabbit and Metro will also be donating the money that pays for those coffees to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Please reach out if you need support. To the lifeline, to anyone. Because today is a new day and you deserve to be here for it!
Rabbit Rabbit and Happy March! The luckiest month of them all, if you believe in that sort of thing. And I obviously do. But I don't believe it always comes out of nowhere. I believe the more goodness we spread, the more luck there will naturally be. So I hope your March is full of lots of good, lots of love, and lots of luck!
Rabbit Rabbit! And Happy November! A month of thanks. After tragedies like yesterday's attack in NYC, it can be a little hard to find things to be grateful for. So if we can't find much more today, maybe we can be thankful that the sun rose this morning, the Earth is still spinning, and we are here to witness it, because it really is a pretty magical thing. Hope this month is good to you all!
Rabbit rabbit! Happy first day of October! September was a tough one, bringing us Hurricane Harvey, Irma, Jose, and Maria. Today, a new month brings us the opportunity to refresh, to push forward, to continue helping all of those affected by the devastation, and to enjoy all the beauty the autumn season brings!
